Meanwhile, man was not created by nature for sitting and lying down. Our distant ancestors spent all their time on the move, escaping from enemies and earning their own food. To survive to this day, to found states and launch spaceships into space, a person was helped not only by the development of the brain, but also by quick legs and skillful hands. No wonder there is a saying: "Labor made a man out of a monkey". And this work is not mental at all. Only in the last couple of hundred years, with the development of technology, for many people, primarily from developed countries, the need to work with their hands disappeared. Perhaps this is good, but there is one BUT. The human body, which for hundreds of thousands of years worked and developed in such a way as to provide a person with maximum strength, agility and endurance, did not change in such a short time, and those of its functions that were beneficial, in the absence of activity, began to be harmful.

A striking example of this change is, of course, the tendency to be overweight. The mechanism of storing fat for a rainy day, which so many times saved our prehistoric ancestors from starvation, now leads to this very death, only from obesity. According to various studies, The leading "medical" cause of death in Western countries is cardiovascular disease., in most cases arising precisely from excess weight.

In the old days, people themselves took care of their health, because any more or less serious illness led, if not to death, then to disability and, accordingly, the inability to earn a living. In our time, we can say that a person is freed from these worries - they are shifted to a huge medical industry, which is capable of offering a cure for almost any disease for a certain amount (or even free of charge). But, despite all the invented medicines, the abundance of hospitals, sanatoriums, gyms and the like, the number of people with health problems is only increasing. According to statistics, 47% of the world's population is overweight.

The results of one of the studies are often cited, according to which human health is 50% dependent on conditions and lifestyle, and the other 50% depends on heredity, the state of medicine and the environment. Simply put, half of our health depends only on our attitude towards it. Therefore, if you have problems, the same notorious excess weight, then there is no point in making excuses for bad heredity. We made ourselves what we are today.

The fact that some people think they just don't need to be active is both surprising and appalling. Indeed, in order to be successful, happy and earn a lot of money, it is absolutely not necessary to be active and mobile. For example, the brilliant scientist Stephen Hawking, who conducted research in the field of cosmology and quantum gravity and received many awards in physics, was almost completely paralyzed, and contacted others using a speech synthesizer. But there are at least four reasons why you shouldn't spend most of your life sitting. But before proceeding to the analysis of these reasons, it is worth saying a few words about how an active lifestyle is connected with human health from the point of view of physiology.

Physical activity for people with illness

It must be said that for sick people who cannot lead such a lifestyle as healthy ones, physical activity is vital, only it is a little different, and for each person, according to his illness, specially therapeutic exercises are selected. These are the things that sometimes save lives.

I can recommend a very simple exercise available to everyone - this breathing exercise will help straighten the lungs and increase the respiratory volume. We take a bottle, pour some water, put any tube into the water. We force the sick person to exhale air into the tube through the water.

If a person is still very weak, and when exhaling he will have to overcome the resistance of water, then at the beginning we pour a little water. Further, when the lungs get stronger and straighten out, then the volume of water needs to be increased. This exercise eventually leads to normal breathing. For paralyzed people after a stroke, motor gymnastics is also extremely important. When a person is in a hospital, physical exercises are carried out under the supervision of a doctor, however, when discharged at home, it is necessary to continue to give physical activity.

First in bed, then standing, and then move on to slow walks. The main thing is not to start the exercises and continue to lead a healthy lifestyle. Physiotherapy exercises are selected individually by the doctor, depending on the type of disease. Gymnastics for a bedridden patient will help maintain health, recover faster, in order to begin to fully move, having overcome the disease.

Actually, it is not always necessary to captivate a partner, you can simply organize it. We talked, thought, decided that you need it - and then according to the plan. That is, they thought through all the little things, made it convenient both for themselves and for their partner. If it's a run, then where and at what time? If joint activities, then which of your hobbies will most likely interest your partner? A fragile girl-philologist is unlikely to be seriously attracted to parkour, but you can go to dances to mutual pleasure. Hi guys. I decided to write such an article on the topic of an active lifestyle. After all, now, wherever you look, computers or technology have climbed into almost all areas of activity. Now every year less and less physical work is required from a person.

On the one hand, this is good, this is progress, we are creating robots, new more modern computers, thanks to which work becomes more efficient, and on the other hand, we begin to move a little, we sit in front of the computer. Someone in such conditions becomes a drisch, and someone just gets fat. This applies to both men and women of any age.

There are, of course, active people who find time to go to the gym or pool. Then the problem with the lack of physical activity disappears immediately. But such people, as statistics show, are a minority.

Basically, I'm an athlete. From his school years, he also began to engage in sambo and judo wrestling. Therefore, I got used to daily workouts in the gym or on the street. For me, it's okay.

But for non-athletes who just want to keep themselves in good shape to feel healthy, beautiful and confident, it is enough to devote time to training at least 2-3 times a week.

Can you set aside 2-3 hours per week? I'm sure you can

Exercises can be done in a variety of ways. If you want to come up with something original, then YouTube will help you. There are a huge number of videos about fitness classes, about a rocking chair and much more.

Why did I start training this August?

I want to tell you how I squandered almost the whole summer and in August I decided to get back in shape a little.

I still compete in sambo wrestling for the national team of the city of Omsk or the Siberian Federal District.

The last competition was somewhere at the end of spring. And then calm. Usually, the upcoming competitions give a good incentive to train so as not to fall into the dirt on the face of the competition. And there was nowhere to prepare, especially summer. And I decided to relax: no training, no exercise at all. :-)

August is here and summer is coming to an end. I know that the next important competition will be in October. It's time to train, go to the gym. But I went to visit my parents in Altai, in a small town called Zarinsk. There is a problem with the gym. But I solved this problem by studying in my apartment in front of the TV. :-)

My task was - to pull yourself up at least a little physically, to do basic exercises.
And I started working out every day at home. Fortunately, some useful sports even turned out to be in the parents’ apartment. inventory:

  • Carpet to lay on the floor
  • And two weights (16 and 24 kg)

What I did?

I included the following exercises in my program:

  1. Pushups;
  2. Torso flexion (press);
  3. Squats;
  4. Plank;
  5. Mahi with a kettlebell;
  6. Tilts to the sides with a kettlebell.

It seems like only six exercises. And I did this for one and a half to two hours a day
At first I did the first four exercises in a circle of 5 sets. I did 50 reps for each exercise.

By the way, I have never really done a “bar” before. And this year they showed the show “weighted people”. Watched? I really liked watching how fat people gradually lost weight and became like normal people. They all came to this show as sad, sick people, and left mostly more lively, cheerful and active.

Okay, so I digress a little. In their workouts, “weighted people” often did the “plank” exercise. And I decided to try it myself. And found it to be very good.

If anyone does not know, the plank is like an emphasis lying down, you just get on your elbows and stay in this position for a certain time, while you manage to maintain this position. Here both the muscles of the back and the abdomen work at the same time.

I held this position on the left hand for 1.5-2 minutes, then on the right for the same amount, and then on both 2-2.5 minutes - it was one approach.

After I completed all five sets of these 4 exercises, I rested for about 10 minutes and proceeded to kettlebell exercises. By the way, these 4 exercises took me a little over an hour.

And then I did swings and tilts with a 16 kg kettlebell. The weight is not heavy, but it was enough for me
Actually, I alternated. I didn't do two kettlebell exercises in one day. I felt sorry for myself a little. One day I did swings 5 ​​times 50 times. And the next day - tilts to the sides, also five sets of 50 times.

Sweat poured in a stream especially in the first days of such training! Then my body more or less adapted.

What is the result?

And what I want to say. I remember my feelings when I started. It was very hard, a little sick, very often I wanted to stop and quit this business. But I lasted two weeks before the start of the usual workouts at the gym in Omsk. Lasted is a bit of a misnomer. It was hard for me only the first three days. Every day it got better and better. I even started to complicate the exercises:

  • I did push-ups not 50 times, but more. As a result, he reached 90 times;
  • I started doing squats with a kettlebell on my shoulders;
  • Held the bar for a longer time.

If you constantly systematically engage in this way, then it is very clearly noticeable how strength is added, how the body adapts to stress. By the way, I began to feel better not only physically, but emotionally and intellectually. It became easier for me to work at the computer, I began to actually perform larger volumes of work. It's simple indescribably! There is no desire to lie down and fall asleep faster in the evening, I still want to work on my blog, make some improvements, write articles.

Okay, stop talking about yourself!

Guys! My dear readers, if you lead a sedentary lifestyle, then go to the gym, do fitness, swim in the pool or find another way to be physically active. If it’s completely “pipe”, then do it at home, like me. Just reduce the number of repetitions. 50 is a lot! Start with five sets of 20 reps. And do not do it every day, but every other day.

Fact! Scientists have proven that physical and mental activity are very closely interconnected. People who lead an active lifestyle, loading their body, really think better!
